When can I sign up to volunteer?
Volunteer registration will open on April 5, 2021.
What is the policy for signing up to volunteer as a High School or Adult Volunteer?
Volunteers sign up directly on the ACTIVE registration system by clicking on the volunteer button (High School or Adult). Volunteers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Must I be available for the entire camp week?
Yes. When signing up for a camp week, volunteers must be available for the entire week.
Must I be available for training?
Yes. It is MANDATORY that volunteers attend a short training session prior to volunteering at camp. Training is typically 1-2 hours in length, and will be offered before the commencement of the camp season.
Will High School volunteers receive service hours?
Yes! Our high school volunteers earn 20 service hours per camp week. A service certificate will be emailed to each high school volunteer at the end of the camp week.
Will Adult Volunteers receive a camp tuition discount?
Yes! Adult volunteers will receive a 25% camp tuition rebate for all campers.
Is Ethics in Ministry (EIM) certification required?
EIM certification is required for our Adult Volunteers, only. For the EIM information page, click here. To start the EIM application, or to check on your status if you have already attended EIM Training, click here. An EIM class will be offered at St. Thomas More prior to camp - schedule TBD.
Will a nursery program be offered for the children of Adult Volunteers?
No. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a nursery program this year.
Is there a dress code or uniform?
Volunteers will be provided with a camp t-shirt, which should be worn daily. We suggest closed-toe shoes, and clothing appropriate for both our hot Texas summers and the position.
What will my time commitment be?
Our camp schedule is Monday-Friday from 9AM-12:30PM. You should plan to volunteer from 8:45AM until 12:45PM.
What age group of campers will I work with?
Our camp is offered for kids going into the 1st-8th grades. Campers will be divided into small groups according to grade level.
May I use my cell phone at camp during camp hours?
You may have your cell phone at camp, but it may only be used for camp-approved purposes, to facilitate communication with camp staff, or for emergencies.
